Zangge Mining Conducts Special Legal Education Training on the Ecological and Environmental Code

To fully implement the Company’s primary responsibility for ecological and environmental protection, strengthen employees’ legal awareness and compliance capabilities in performing their duties, effectively prevent and mitigate ecological and environmental legal risks throughout production and operations, and further consolidate the foundation for green development and sustainable operations, the Company invited Lawyer Cai Xianlong from Qinghai Shuren Law Firm to deliver a special legal education training session entitled “Environmental Risks and Compliance Recommendations for Mining Enterprises under the Ecological and Environmental Code.”

Lawyer Cai Xianlong began with the legislative background, core objectives, and framework of the Ecological and Environmental Code, closely relating the provisions to the production and operational scenarios of mining enterprises. He provided a systematic explanation across six key areas: compliance red lines and restrictions concerning project site selection; compliance requirements for the occupation and use of forest and grassland; risks and management of hazardous waste during project construction; the distinctive nature of ecological and environmental liabilities; alternative remediation mechanisms; and the environmental risks and corresponding prevention recommendations for mining companies arising from the Provisions on Temporal Effect. Closely aligned with both the core requirements of the Code and the Company’s actual operations, the training was highly targeted and practical. It helped participants accurately understand the full-life-cycle compliance obligations of mining enterprises following the implementation of the Code, clarify the boundaries governing the application and transition between previous and new legal requirements, and identify key environmental legal risks throughout project approval, construction, and operation.

Through the systematic training, all participants gained a deeper understanding of the core principles and compliance requirements of the Code. The sessions further enhanced their awareness of the importance, seriousness, and urgency of ecological and environmental protection in the new era, while clarifying compliance requirements across the entire chain, from project site selection and the occupation and use of forest and grassland to hazardous waste management and ecological restoration. This provided a solid legal foundation for employees to perform their duties in accordance with laws and regulations. The training also strengthened the Company’s legal management foundation for ecological and environmental protection and further reinforced the responsibilities of each department and position for ecological and environmental protection.

Going forward, the Company will take the implementation of the Ecological and Environmental Code as an opportunity to conduct regular legal education and compliance self-assessments on ecological and environmental protection, fully integrate the Code’s compliance requirements into all aspects of production, operations, and management, and continuously improve its ecological and environmental risk prevention and control system. The Company will further enhance its green and compliant management capabilities, firmly fulfill its corporate social responsibilities for ecological and environmental protection, and leverage the rule of law to support its high-quality, sustainable, and green development.
