Pioneer Visit: Inside Zangge Mining | Exploring New Paths for Digital and Intelligent Organizational Upgrading in Resource-Based Enterprises

On August 27, the “Pioneer Visit: Inside Zangge Mining” event, initiated by Beisen, was held in the main conference room on the 19th floor of Chengdu Yintai Centre. HR professionals and information management executives from a number of enterprises across Sichuan gathered to exchange insights on organizational upgrading and innovation in talent management for resource-based enterprises in the digital and intelligent era.

Under the theme “Exploring Digital and Intelligent Organizational Upgrading for Resource-Based Enterprises,” the event combined an on-site visit, executive sharing, and collaborative case discussions to present Zangge Mining’s explorations and practices in digital transformation and organizational capability building.

During the event, Qin Shizhe, Vice President of Zangge Mining, shared the practical challenges encountered by the Company in human resources governance and the approaches adopted to address them. He noted that, in response to the challenges arising from global expansion and the coordinated growth of multiple business segments, Zangge Mining is accelerating its transformation from a resource-driven model toward one powered by “technology + talent + digitalization,” while continuing to explore digital management approaches and organizational capability-building models suited to resource-based enterprises.

Guan Yu, General Manager of the Information Management Department of Zangge Mining, delivered a presentation entitled “Zangge Mining’s Digital Strategy Planning and Business Enablement Practices.” He introduced the Company’s overall roadmap for digital development. Since 2020, Zangge Mining has followed an overall strategy of “piloting in core businesses, extending to related businesses, and deepening application,” advancing implementation in phases and continuously optimizing its systems. Through these efforts, the Company has gradually established digital platforms covering areas such as financial shared services, supply chain management, and human resources.

In terms of AI applications, the Company has launched the first phase of development, focusing on use cases including knowledge-based Q&A, contract information extraction, office document processing, and bid evaluation support. These initiatives are progressing from isolated pilot applications toward end-to-end intelligent enablement. Guan stated that Zangge Mining will continue to advance its digital development to support the Company’s high-quality growth.

Ren Yunyou, Deputy General Manager of the Human Resources Department of Zangge Mining, shared the Company’s explorations and practices in digital and intelligent transformation under the theme “From a Resource Hub to a Talent Hub: Exploring Digital and Intelligent Human Resources Transformation in Resource-Based Enterprises.” Ren noted that, over the next decade, the scarcest resource for resource-based enterprises will no longer be mineral resources, but talent.

In response to strategic bottlenecks such as having resources without sufficient talent to develop them and having projects without adequate teams to operate them, Zangge Mining has set a transformation goal of moving from a “resource hub” to a “talent hub.” Through a three-in-one initiative comprising the development of a human resources information system, the establishment of a competency qualification system, and a talent review project, the Company is advancing its digital and intelligent transformation and shifting human resources management from transaction- and experience-driven approaches toward more data-driven and system-based management.

Zhang Yilu, Integrated Solutions Expert for Beisen’s Western Region, delivered a presentation entitled “Mavens: Building a New Intelligent Organization — Human-AI Collaboration for a Highly Intelligent Super Organization.” From the perspectives of AI technology and organizational evolution, he explored emerging organizational models enabled by human-AI collaboration, providing participants with forward-looking insights and practical references.

During the tea break and open discussion session, participants engaged in lively exchanges on key issues surrounding the digital and intelligent transformation of resource-based enterprises. The “Pioneer Visit: Inside Zangge Mining” event not only showcased Zangge Mining’s progress and practices in digital and intelligent transformation, but also provided managers from different industries with a platform for professional exchange and connection.

Going forward, Zangge Mining will continue to embrace an open and collaborative approach, working with partners from across sectors to explore further possibilities for organizational upgrading in resource-based enterprises and contribute to the high-quality development of the industry.
